沃尔玛改变薪资结构 降低部分新员工薪水

为了降低劳动力成本,零售业巨头、全美最大私营部门雇主沃尔玛(Walmart)从7月中旬起改变时薪工的薪资结构,降低部分新员工的薪水。
根据《华尔街日报》和CNBC的报道,根据改变后的薪资结构,沃尔玛大多数新员工的时薪将会尽可能低,而在以往,诸如处理线上订单的捡货员等新员工的时薪会比收银员及其他新员工多,现有员工的薪水则不受影响。而沃尔玛14元的最低时薪将依旧维持不变,不过会因地区而有所不同,有些商店的最低时薪达到17元。
根据部分员工所获得的公司文件,沃尔玛称,改变薪资结构将允许员工们在不同的工作部门之间换工作,薪水则不会受到影响。沃尔玛在文件中说,这将使得沃尔玛员工配置更加完善,超过5万名员工因薪资低于最低标准而获得加薪。对于沃尔玛现在雇用新员工是否变得更加容易,公司女发言人哈尔菲德(Anne
Hatfield)拒绝予以答复。沃尔玛在一项声明中说,它改变薪资结构,这样不管是处理线上订单的捡货员,还是收银员,其起薪是一致的,“一致的起薪导致一致的人员配置及更好的客户服务,同时也为同事从公司不同部门经历中获得新技能创造新机会,并为他们的生涯打好基础。”
沃尔玛过去几年提高了时薪工薪资,当中也包括提高了其最低薪资标准,新冠疫情造成的人手不足使得雇主们为招聘杂货、医疗保健及其他专业领域的员工展开了激烈的竞争。沃尔玛为诸如卡车司机等职位空缺推出了调薪和奖金等举措。
沃尔玛曾在今年1月份时宣布将最低时薪从12元调涨至14元,此举令大约30万员工获得加薪。
