I remember one of my Malaysian Chinese colleagues once told me that when she first went to Australia to study, she was "shocked" to see white people doing garbage collection and other things - because in Malaysia, this kind of work is almost always completed by dark-skinned immigrants, almost every white person is at least some senior managers, and children will go to high-end international schools.

That's for sure. I worked with three colleagues for four months. They graduated from Cambridge University, Yale University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In a local high school, their salary was much higher than mine. Although they did not prepare classes at all, the teaching task was just to play games with students in class.
